What is VFFS packaging machine?

VFFS is the abbreviation of vertical form fill seal machine. It is a common equipment in automatic packaging production line. Just like its name, a series of functions can be realized on the vertical equipment rack, that is, forming from roll stock into bags, filling materials into bags and then sealing.

VFFS can finish packaging more convenient and effective, save a lot of time and cost. It is mainly used in industrial packaging process.

Film Feed Motor

Film feed motor working with sensor at heating bars to continuous provide film to film pulling system.

Film Pulling System

Film roll is placed on a spindle assembly at the rear of the machine. During the packaging, the film is pulled off by film transport belts.

Code Printer

Code printer help to get code on the filmed package.

Metering System

This is the key to get accurate weighing before packaging. The whole system gives more output.

Pouch Former

Pouch former makes bags gradually from the film pulled-out. It is the key component for a VVFS The film enters into forming tube assembly and folded around the tube once it crests the shoulder or collar on the forming tube. A length of film with the two outer edges of the film is overlapping each other to ready for a lap seal or a fin seal.

Radius Tool

Radius tool is help to get radius design for the filmed bag corners.

Sealing Bar

Sealing bars is to make filmed bag sealed after filling.

FAQ for VVFS packaging machine

The selection for single channel or multilane fully depends on the packaging capacity requirements.

Single lane is common use in the beginning stage. Usually it can finish 10-80bpm pending on the packaging weight. While the multi-lane packaging design save the production space with higher capacity. The failure of a single lane does not affect the operation of other lanes. We can have 70bpm via one lane on that.

The VFFS can pack most of the powder or fine particle products. Applications like:

  • Milk powder, soybean milk powder, solid beverage, coffee
  • Monosodium glutamate, sugar, seasoning
  • Glucose, solid medicine
  • Flour, feed, dye
  • Oats, chocolate, dried fruits, nuts

There are many design forms of bag former, which can be selected according to specific requirements. The film roll width range is 110-240mm. Bag style includes strip bag, strip fillet bag, back sealing bag, three side sealing bag, four side sealing bag and continuous bag.

In addition to the above basic functions of the forming sealing and packaging, optional function can be added like easy tearing, punching, electrostatic, nitrogen protecting, air inflating and exhausting, date printing and labeling.
